NOTE: The State Ground Water Program is still accepting applications for water testing, but currently does not have funding to do the testing. Please contact the Ground Water Specialist for further details.

The State Ground Water Program, administered by the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food (UDAF), was implemented in 1996 to assist private well owners in determining the quality of their drinking, irrigation, and livestock water. The program receives assistance from local conservation districts in the selection of wells to sample.

Here is information about UDAF's free well testing program, including a testing request form.

The program has two areas of emphasis:

  1. Inorganic Water Quality, such as salinity, SAR and toxic minerals;
  2. and Pesticides.
