The Great Utah Agriculture Survey

National Agriculture Day occurs every year on the first day of Spring.

Here in Utah we are using the day (March 20th) as an opportunity to honor agriculture for providing safe, abundant and affordable products, a strong economy, a source of renewable energy, and a world of job opportunities. Agriculture is also facing some challenges in the areas of water and air quality, land use and animal care.

There is an abundance of information about agriculture on the Internet. One of the best places to start is our Agriculture in the Classroom Webpage.

We’d like to hear your opinion about Utah agriculture.
Please take a few minutes to send the Commissioner of Agriculture and Food, Leonard Blackham a message at: agriculture@utah.gov.

The survey is a chance to speak up about Utah agriculture, and have your comments posted on the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food Web site. We’re looking for your story about agriculture. What farming and ranching mean to you. Tell us how you think agriculture contributes to the State of Utah. Send your message today.

If you live on a farm or ranch, tell us what you grow or raise, and what you think about feeding the rest of the state. If you live in the city, tell us what you appreciate about Utah’s farmers and ranchers. We’d even like to hear what you think needs fixing with agriculture.
