Utah Noxious Weed Dashboards

Aaron Eagar, State Noxious Weed Program Manager (801) 602-1961

Main Dashboard:

Main Dashboard Example

The UDAF Noxious Weed Dashboard provides the public with a statewide view of verified regulated noxious weeds in Utah as defined by the Utah Noxious Weed Act.

Our goal with this dashboard is to provide the most current and detailed information on Noxious Weeds in Utah.  The displayed data set incorporates the verified and released records for the last 6 years.  Regulated species data is captured in the field, verified for validity, then released into the system.  Each record is categorized as positive, treated, eradicated, or a record can be a negative survey.  Each record contains a wealth of information pertaining to what was observed in the field when the record was created.

The Dashboard utilizes this information to sort and display this information by: county, land ownership, acres, rank, year, and current record status. In addition, supporting integrated pest management activities such as our statewide biological program and our statewide monitoring protocols are displayed with their supporting documentation.

For more information on dashboard navigation please review the “Dashboard Walkthrough” link below.  If you have questions on regulated species in Utah or dashboard functionality, please contact Aaron Eagar.

Project details include: location, acres, land ownership, targeted species, project manager, project description, species distribution and stats within the project area.  In addition, supporting integrated pest management activities such as our statewide biological program and our statewide monitoring protocols are displayed with their supporting documentation.

For more information on dashboard navigation please review the “Dashboard Walkthrough” link below.  If you have questions on a specific funded project please contact the project manager listed on the project.  If you have questions on the overall ISM program or dashboard functionality, please contact Aaron Eagar.

Utah Featured Projects:

Untreated Site: 2019 – 2021

Utah has a wide variety of habitats found throughout the state which are utilized by residents and visitors alike. Hunting, fishing, recreation, tourism, and agriculture are integral to our livelihood.  All of Utah relies on healthy livestock, soils and wildlife which require healthy native plant communities. These native communities are threatened by invasive noxious weeds and if left unchecked could transform an entire ecosystem and everything that depends on it.

Invasive Species Mitigation provides financial assistance to land owners, managers, and agencies through competitive grant opportunities with the goal of protecting agricultural, critical rangeland, and important wetlands.
